Battle of the sexes: Women Drivers! |
In light of the evidence on the previous page, this document hopes to serve as a very basic and
illustrated guideline to motorised transport for our dear feminine members of the species.
Fact: Cars are made of solid matter, and solid matter has a finite size and specific
dimensions. And size certainly does matter - particularly when driving a vehicle along
a street or steering it around obstacles,...
...whether they be stationary...
...or not.
Nowhere is a woman's inability to judge the dimensions of
her vehicle more evident when bringing her car to a stand-still and shutting
down the engine - technically known as parking.
Of course, one cannot simply park where-ever one wishes.
There are rules. Even a degree of common sense is mandatory.
Although male city engineers are often sexist kind enough
to provide generous parking opportunities reserved especially for women (yes, women are
indeed very "special" to us), ...
...those members of the technically-challenged gender have serious difficulty
ascertaining the two-dimensional relationship between a parking space and the vehicle she has commandeered.
And there's an additional skill required: the ability to read...
...not only words and letters, but symbols and pictures, too! Trouble often ensues already
during the mere identification of a suitable place where one may legally bring a car to rest (known as a parking
space or a parkade). Subway entrances can be particularly misleading.
Remember: The basic laws of the outside world still apply!
Once a potential parking spot has been identified, all that remains is
to safely maneuver the car into a usually pre-defined space, preferably
in alignment with the existing vehicles...
...and according to the markings on the ground.
